Courmayeur is the Italian equivalent of Chamonix; it lies at the foot of the impressive South face of the Mt Bianco and it’s the most renowned ski resort of the Aosta Valley. It is linked to the nearby French resort by a 20 minutes drive through a tunnel underneath the mountain and by the Helbronner cable car, open in the summer months only, crossing the glaciers at the elevation of 3600 meters. Its charming town center, converge in a small area high quality fashion shop, restaurants, wine bars and hotels for a memorable stay in one of the most popular ski town in Italy. Here you can enjoy the vicinity of another ski resort La Thuile, that offers great lift-access off-piste between the trees and fabulous heli-skiing.

Courmayeur offers a great ski area split between the two flanks of the valley. On one side the tree skiing and the alpine terrain are easy accessible with the lifts, for great powder skiing and not much walking. Heli skiing is also possible in the Val Veny where in a powder day you can easily access long fresh runs with no effort.
The variety of the pistes, perfectly groomed can challenge any level of skier. This area is spotted with an incredible variety of mountain restaurants, inviting for an Italian lunch stop, almost mandatory!
For the adventure seekers, you can’t miss the other side of the valley, where the new famous lift Monte Bianco Skyway will take you right up on the South flank of the Mont Blanc. This highly engineered lift just opened in the summer 2015 and implement the newest cable car technologies. It has a 360° spinning cabin, that allows you to enjoy the panorama from every angle. When standing at the top station you have the impression of being in a space ship. From here you have access to the 3500m of the Punta Helbronner, the door of the skiable glacier of the Vallée Blanche and many other incredible alpine terrains. From there you could only expect the beginning of a great adventure.
In the summer with the Skyway you can easily access the Rifugio Torino, the statring point of many early morning adventures. With a guide infact you can explore classic alpine routes like the Dent du Geant or the Tour Ronde, get vertical climbing on one of the granite wall of the Capicin's or simply take your first steps on a glacier.
